Bensonwood

Bensonwood is a design-build firm of timber-frame, commercial, and residential buildings.

Doubling production capacity

Bensonwood’s newest division, Unity Homes, is a manufacturer of ready-to-assemble high-performance, energy-efficient homes. The two companies combined employ 118 people and provide high-quality jobs and wages contributing to the state’s economy.

Bensonwood needed to renovate and expand manufacturing facilities in Keene in order to double its production capacity to meet a growing demand for both its products. Despite a growing company, traditional financing and personal guarantees by the owners, a significant gap existed for the purchase of new manufacturing equipment.

The BFA worked with Bensonwood’s lender to guarantee a loan in the amount of $6 million. This guarantee was the last piece of the puzzle to allow Bensonwood to move forward with its expansion.

Bensonwood Expansion:
Added at 110,000 square foot facility in Keene. This expansion creates space that is four times bigger to allow the company to increase manufacturing capacity.

Bob Oberlander

The BFA was critical in helping Bensonwood move forward with our expansion plans. They worked closely with our lender in order to provide a guarantee that allowed us to secure critical financing to expand our “off-site” manufacturing capacity. This has increased our ability to provide higher quality panelized building components at a lower cost.
