Peterborough, NH – January 17, 2025 – Alran Books, a family-owned company based in Peterborough, has collaborated with the New Hampshire Business Finance Authority (BFA) and BankProv to secure a $50,000 loan through the Capital Access Program (CAP). This funding enables the company to expand its specialized textbook services for schools and organizations across New England.
With deep roots in the Granite State, Alran Books builds on the success of The Toadstool Bookshop, a beloved local business with two brick-and-mortar locations in Peterborough and Keene. Known for its inviting atmosphere and personalized service, The Toadstool Bookshop has long stood apart from larger competitors. Alran Books furthers the family’s mission to serve the community by providing a streamlined, one-stop solution for New England boarding schools’ textbook procurement needs.
“This partnership will allow us to cater to a niche need in education,” said Emerson Sistare, Owner of Alran Books. “The funding ensures that we can establish stronger connections with New England’s boarding schools while maintaining the charm and dedication that make local businesses so special.”
“The BFA is proud to support small businesses like Alran Books,” stated James Key-Wallace, Executive Director of the BFA. “By helping create accessible textbook services, we’re fostering both educational excellence and local business growth in New Hampshire.”
