BFA CAP Loan Helps Peter Limmer & Sons Expand Production of Iconic Handmade Hiking Boots

Intervale, NH – August 7, 2026 – Peter Limmer & Sons, Inc., the legendary New Hampshire bootmaker known worldwide for its handcrafted custom hiking boots, has been approved for a $25,000 working capital line of credit through the New Hampshire Business Finance Authority’s (BFA) Capital Access Program (CAP) in partnership with Camden National Bank. The financing will help the company expand production, reduce its lengthy customer waitlist, and add one part-time employee.
Since 1919, Peter Limmer & Sons has built an international reputation for producing some of the finest custom hiking boots available. Hand crafted in Intervale, New Hampshire, the company’s boots are recognized for their exceptional fit, precision craftsmanship, durability, and functional design. Outdoor enthusiasts from all over the world seek out Limmer boots, particularly those with difficult-to-fit feet or those looking for footwear built to last a lifetime.
Demand for the company’s handcrafted boots continues to outpace production, with customers currently facing a wait time of two to three years. The new working capital line of credit will allow Peter Limmer & Sons to increase production capacity while maintaining the meticulous craftsmanship that has defined the family business for more than a century.
“The BFA is proud to support New Hampshire manufacturers that represent the very best of our state’s craftsmanship and entrepreneurial spirit,” said James Key-Wallace, Executive Director of the New Hampshire Business Finance Authority. “Peter Limmer & Sons has built an extraordinary reputation over more than 100 years, and this financing will help the company continue meeting strong demand while creating additional employment opportunities in the Mount Washington Valley.”
“We’re grateful for the support from Camden National Bank and the BFA,” said Adam Lane-Olsen, owner and bootmaker. “Our customers are hikers who care about quality and craftsmanship, and this financing lets us serve more of them while keeping the traditions that have made these boots respected for five generations.”
The loan was made possible through a partnership with Camden National Bank, which worked with the BFA to provide financing through the Capital Access Program. CAP, administered by the New Hampshire Business Finance Authority for more than 30 years without the use of taxpayer funds, is a public-private initiative designed to reduce lending risk and help small businesses secure the working capital they need to grow, create jobs, and strengthen New Hampshire’s economy.
